    Yes, our cabins are designed to be used for living, working, or recreational purposes. They’re warm, safe, and cosy year-round.
  • Do your cabins have toilets, showers, or bathrooms?
    Our cabins are a bedroom only and designed to avoid consent requirements.
  • Do you offer rent-to-own options?
    Not currently, but we don’t have any maximum hire terms. We’re always open to discussing your needs and find out how we can help you in your specific situation.We’ve had cabins on hire to the same customer for 10+ years!
  • Do you hire cabins for business or commercial use?
    Yes, absolutely. We work with businesses across a range of industries to provide flexible, high-quality cabin solutions. Whether you need extra office space, staff accommodation, or temporary facilities, we can tailor a package to suit.
  • Can I hire cabins for my employees to live?
    Yes – our cabins are often used for employee accommodation, especially in industries like construction, agriculture, tourism, and events. They’re fully insulated, secure, and comfortable year-round.
  • Do you provide cabins for RSE workers?
    Yes, we regularly supply cabins for Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) workers. We understand the specific needs of RSE programmes and can work with you to ensure everything is compliant and ready for your team.
  • Is there a different contract for business hire?
    Yes – commercial hires are set up with a business-specific contract, which can cover multiple cabins, longer terms, and customised invoicing. Just let us know your needs and we’ll talk you through the process.
  • Do you offer volume discounts for multiple cabins?
    We’re always happy to discuss bulk pricing for commercial hires. If you’re hiring several cabins or entering a longer-term agreement, talk to us about how we can make it work for your budget.
  • Can you deliver to rural or large-scale job sites?
    Yes – our cabins are typically delivered on custom trailers and can be set up in a wide range of locations, including rural areas and remote sites. We also have other options of transporting multiple cabins in one trip which can be discussed in the planning process. We’ll check site access ahead of time to make sure everything goes smoothly.
  • How does invoicing work for commercial hires?
    For commercial clients, we offer consolidated monthly invoicing to keep things streamlined. This allows for one clear invoice each month with all charges grouped together, making it easier for your accounts team.
  • What payments are required to get started?
    We have an initial deposit that is required prior to delivery. This is made up of the following: Delivery/collection, bond and first week’s hire You will either receive an invoice or you can make payment via the bank account details provided on Page 3 of the MIZIN Application Form.
  • How does the weekly hire payment work?
    Your weekly hire payment is due in advance of the week. Your first week is included in your initial deposit. We recommend setting up an automatic payment via internet banking or heading into your local branch. If you have any questions or would like to set-up another payment structure, please contact us to discuss.
  • Are you a Work and Income Approved Accommodation Supplier?
    Yes, MIZIN is a registered Work and Income Accommodation Supplier. If you’re applying to WINZ for assistance, we can provide you with a free WINZ quote to assist you.
  • Are the cabins insulated?
    Yes – all MIZIN cabins are fully insulated with high-grade insulation in the walls, ceiling, and in the cavity floor. They’re built to keep you warm in winter and cool in summer.
  • How does the power connection work?
    Each cabin comes with a 15-amp caravan-style power lead with an adaptor attached to the end. We can plug these into an outside power point on the property or into a normal 3 pin power plug in a shed, garage or house.
  • Do I need to arrange the power setup?
    We provide the power lead and set it up on delivery. You’ll just need a compatible outdoor or indoor plug – we can advise what’s needed ahead of time.
  • Do your cabins have heaters or aircons?
    Our deluxe range of cabins has a heat-pump/aircon system installed for your comfort.
  • How do I book/hire a cabin?
    You can hire a cabin by filling out the enquiry form on our website or by giving us a call on our 0800 46 49 46 phone number. We will then provide you a quote specific to your needs You will be sent a MIZIN Application Form and Contract along with our Terms and Conditions. Please take the time to read through the T&Cs, ask us any questions and ensure you understand it completely. You will be required to complete the Application Form and return it to us before the delivery. The application form will then be processed. Your initial deposit will be required prior to delivery. Once all of this is completed, your cabin will be delivered. We have very quick turn arounds so this process can be completed within a few hours or weeks, depending on your requirements.
  • Can I choose the delivery date?
    We’ll do our best to accommodate your preferred date, and we’ll always confirm a delivery window ahead of time. Our team will stay in touch so you know exactly when to expect your cabin.
  • Do you have cabins available?
    We always have cabins available. Always.
  • What sizes do your cabins come in?
    We have a range of different sizes and configurations to suit your needs. Kowhai Cabin 2.4m wide by 3.6m long – door on the 2.4m end Kaui Cabin 2.4m wide by 4.2m long – door on the 2.4m end Manuka or Manuka Deluxe Cabin 2.4m wide by 4.2m long - door on the 4.2m end Rimu or Rimu Deluxe Cabin 2.4m wide by 4.8m long – door on the 4.8m end
  • Can I see layout options before I book?
    Absolutely. We can provide photos of each of our cabins in various layouts.
  • Can I use the cabin as a bedroom?
    Yes! Our cabins are perfect as sleepouts, spare bedrooms or permanent living spaces. They’re warm, private, and comfortable.
  • Are they suitable for a office space?
    Definitely. Many of our customers use their cabin as a quiet, dedicated workspace including some of our own MIZIN team members. With power points and insulation, it’s the perfect space for focus and productive days.
  • Can they be used for a studio or creative spaces?
    Yes – we’ve seen cabins transformed into music rooms, art studios, beauty rooms, therapy spaces, and more. They’re incredibly versatile. We’d love to see how you use the space.
  • Do people use them for short-term stays?
    Some customers use our cabins as temporary accommodation during renovations or between homes. We’re happy to work with you on a short-term hire, contact us to discuss.
  • What is the minimum hire period?
    Our standard hire term is 6 months. We also have a 3 month minimum hire term. However, if you have a query regarding a term that suits your needs, we are happy to discuss this with you.
  • How much does it cost to hire a cabin?
    Prices vary by cabin type. Kowhai Cabin 3 month hire term = $130.00 including GST per week 6 month hire term = $85.00 including GST per week Kauri Cabin 3 month hire term = $140.00 including GST per week 6 month hire term = $100.00 including GST per week Manuka Cabin 3 month hire term = $140.00 including GST per week 6 month hire term = $100.00 including GST per week Manuka Deluxe Cabin 3 month hire term = $200.00 including GST per week 6 month hire term = $160.00 including GST per week Rimu Cabin 3 month hire term = $185.00 including GST per week 6 month hire term = $145.00 including GST per week Rimu Deluxe Cabin 3 month hire term = $240.00 including GST per week 6 month hire term = $180.00 including GST per week
  • Is there a bond?
    Yes, we have a bond related to all cabins. This is refundable upon collection of the cabin as long as the cabin is in a good condition. We do allow for fair wear and tear. Bond rate per cabin Kowhai = $300.00 – no GST Kauri = $300.00 – no GST Manuka = $300.00 – no GST Manuka Deluxe = $600.00 – no GST Rimu = $400.00 – no GST Rimu Deluxe = $600.00 – no GST
  • What’s included with the cabin?
    Each cabin comes fully insulated, with thermal carpet, curtains and includes lighting, power points and a deck. An outside light. Delivery and setup are included in your initial invoice.
  • How does delivery work?
    Our cabins are delivered on a custom-built trailer. We use jacks to lift the cabin off, pull the trailer out and lower the cabin onto blocks. Stabiliser legs are fitted and will be lowered for safety.
  • How soon can I get a cabin delivered?
    Contact us to confirm as we can work with you. However, typically within 1-3 weeks depending on location, delivery schedules and availability.
  • Is there a delivery fee?
    Yes, we have a one off delivery fee which includes installation of the cabin, setting up the power and ensuring everything is perfect before we leave. This fee is included in your first invoice. Our delivery fees start at a minimum of $300.00 including GST per cabin. But we are often running specials so contact us to find out. On our 6-month minimum hire term, this fee also includes collection at the end of the hire.
